During his last tenure he was leading the HP government as Chief parliamentary secretariat H.P. Govt. He always worked with great dedication & determination.He was grounded, soft spoken and a visionary. Driven by his passion, his efficiency, ethics and hard work he proved his mettle by triggering a revolutionary industrial growth in Baddi which transformed the barren hills to an industrial boon and instilled the confidence of a better tomorrow in the minds of industrialists. He supported different industries with the much needed development and created an environment replete of opportunities. He gave a prospective and resourceful atmosphere to Baddi which highly influenced the growth factor of the industry in a positive direction.
Some of the biggest industries of the time established and flourished during his tenure. Vardhman which has seen immense growth from 1 to 9 units was one such corporate. The political stability and harmony was the major reason behind such a wonderous achievement. Chaudhary Lajja Ram ji extended his positive support as a leader and ensured that the industry had to face no political pressures.
The truck union was formed and grew extensively under his umbrella. The truck union with only 45 trucks during the time of its formation, is the biggest truck union of Asia with 9000 trucks on the list in the present day. 1800 industries in Baddi owe their presence to him.
The government employees and staff were also given a peaceful and liberal work environment so that they could work without pressures and in a cordial atmosphere. During his period he worked for DOON and made major contributions to its development. One of them was the construction of all pucca main roads in Doon area roads from Baddi to Pinjore.
During his tenure he opened up various new schools and many internal roads within the villages and those connecting to various others were made. Innumerable water and irrigation plants were set up during his time.Chaudhary Lajja Ram Ji led a simple personal life, sober family life, ethical professional life & finally died as one of the rarest politicians without any self interests. He was a popular mass leader of the area and his contributions for the development of Doon and Baddi are unparalleled.
